Activities Around Vancouver

Spring

Hiking

Where: Cypress Mountain (Eagle Bluffs and Black Mountain); The Stawamus Chief Hike in Squamish; Lynn Canyon Valley*.
Price: Includes car rental, gas, food&drinks required to function, approximately $40 per person.
Tips: Take a good pair of hiking shoes. Book vehicle in advance. That way you can find a really good deal, sometimes even ridiculous, check out Enterprise.



Biking

Where: Around Stanley Park; North Vancouver; West Vancouver*.
Price: $25-35 per day or ~$300 for bike.
Tips: There are bunch of rental places, just ask around. If you are staying here for half a year or longer invest in buying your own bike, you will be able to sell it before leaving very fast using Craigslist. Buy a good lock!


Summer

Slackline

Where: English Bay; Kitsilano Beach; Stanley Park 2nd Beach*
Price: $40 on Amazon or MEC.
Tips: Look for warranty.


Frisbee

Where: English Bay; Stanley Park 3rd Beach; Spanish Banks*
Price: $8-25 one of the best can be found here.
Tips: don't be cheap, buy one but good one, it pays off.


Beach Volleyball

Where: Jericho Beach; Sunset Beach; Kitsilano Beach*
Price: free or $40 per day, including rent of the net and ball (~$5/ person). 
Tips: join gaming team or rent at the gaming place, otherwise just buy your own equipment here.


Kayaking

Where: Kitsilano Beach; Deep Cove*.
Price: $16-25 per hour.
Tips: there are single-seat kayak, double-seat kayak, pedal board, check your options before making purchase.  


Camping

Where: Squamish; Chilliwack; Sasmat Lake*
Price: expenses to get to the lake plus food&drink comes to ~$30-50.
Tips: renting car pays off, as you can bring all you need without extra hassle. 


Soccer(football)

Where: Sunset Beach (green area)*.
Price: free.
Tips: Look for chance to join gaming teams. 


Stanley Park Second Beach Calisthenics 

Where: Stanley Park Second Beach (at the bars)*
Price: free.
Tips: Check out the group. Bring your friends because its not only about exercises it is also about communication, love and positive vibes.


Autumn

Night Clubs

Where: Library Square; Celebrities; The Roxy*.
Price: $5-15 for entrance, plus expenses at the bar.
Tips: pre-purchase tickets online in advance, it will save you a lot of time at the entrance.


Pumpkin Pick Up Events

Where: Richmond Country Farms*.
Price: $20-30 including transportation and fun at the farm.
Tips: Bring your rubber boots, it's muddy. 


Winter

Snowboarding/Skiing

Where: Cypress Mountain; Whistler; Grouse Mountain*.
Price: starting at $300 per season or $45 daily (if pre-purchase). 
Tips: if you are planning to do it more than once, buy your own equipment it will cost you starting from $70 (snowboard+bindings+shoes+pants+jacket+gloves) if you use Value Village. Or get full season gear from Cypress Mountain Resort.


Hot Springs

Where: Squamish; Whistler; Chilliwack*.
Price: free if at wild spot or included into the price of the resort expenses.
